Your favorite art software?

Post by Juneberry »

I don't have access to my main art software at the moment, which is a comic building program called ComiPo. I used it for all sorts of digital art, but because I don't have it, I've been looking at various (free) art programs. And that made me wonder...

What is everyone's go to program if you do digital art?

My usual go to is Paint Shop Pro. Its not free (though you can do a free trial). Been using it for years. Like since high school at least.

I also like Photoshop Elements. I mostly like that for drawing and stuff.

I just use Gimp and MS Paint for my art needs. Both are free, and they both work well for what I like to make. :)

I've recently been playing with GIMP myself (see: banner) I'm not great with it, but it's fun for making textures and stuff. I actually made a good spooky texture with it for a blog post~ As far as regular art programs go, I really like it. It's also better than Krita that kept freezing.

I can't afford that kind of program, so I'm just trying out free ones as I find them. xD

Even though I don't make much art again with it, I still use PhotoShop. It's mostly just resizing images and making backgrounds transparent these days.

Before I got PhotoShop, I used GIMP. It's a great free alternative.

Patterns, logos, banners, those signatures you used to see long ago (not sure if anyone makes those again), image tweaks like adding fire to a dragon) etc.

I never did human drawings tho.
