So, MeowsePad's forum shut down and (until the domain name expires) redirects to the Discord. I honestly never liked that platform at all. The one time I tried getting into a Discord chat room, they required me to provide them my phone number. Ridiculous! >_<

I guess I'm going to be lurking this forum and a few others that are affiliated. I don't want to sell myself to a corporation.

Discord never asked for my phone number. I barely use Discord but I do have it.

I use Discord a lot. Mostly just for a couple channels (mostly for forums) or to chat with a friends.

That depends. I'm sure this is mainly forced on anyone using a VPN, Tor, or other privacy layers? Admittedly, I'd never browse the Internet without one of those in place.

Also, since Discord is a chat room, and I'm not a chat room person, that turns me off even more. I like forums better because you can always think about what you're going to say next. It's easy to derail discussions and go on the personal side of things, so I don't wanna involve myself in that ever again...

I use discord a fair bit, particularly for work. I'm used to it at this stage, though chat rooms do tend to make me nervous for the reasons Yumika mentioned. I'm the type who likes having time to think about my responses, because I take things way too personally sometimes.
