fun fact, america had to spend millions of dollars designing a zero G pen.
russia just used pencils.

as for getting things back on topic...

Believe it or not I use a pair of nail clippers for stripping fine or small wires for my projects.
they bite into the wire sheath well and can work as soft wire cutters and strippers with a bit of finesse.
I got them at my local dollar store

Honestly I've used nail clippers to cut open various things when I have nothing else on hand.

@ juneberry, they specialize in custom hardware mods to game consoles, but the way they go about it is very creative.
they actually go about cable management, and color coding even when it's not needed.

it turns a simple upgrade into something very appealing to the eye.

things like, bending the cables and threading them so they sit flush with the circuit board, and using adhesives to have the cables route cleanly.

little extra touches like that.

in fact, I was inspired to do something like that myself when I installed an audio upgrade to my old sega genesis, it turned out better than I expected, even if it was a lot more effort than I thought it would be going in.
he made it look easy. 8-)

it's something I've tried to strive for when doing upgrades, mods, and repairs to electronics, not only do the job well but make it look clean and appealing, like it came from the factory that way almost.

but yeah returning to topic, nail clippers, they're super handy multi-purpose tools with way more applications than the name implies.
plus they're easy to fit in any tool kit.

I wouldn't use them on hard wires though, good for cables and soft things, and of course nails, but not so much for bigger, heavier duty stuff, that's what actual wire cutters, strippers, and crimpers are for.

I've also seen smaller ones used for trimming excess plastic off model kits, and little things like that.
